An alert that tells you why it fired
A notification that says "EUR/USD alert" is a notification that sends you to a chart to work out what it meant. By the time you have reconstructed it, the candle has closed.
Alerts fire when conditions become true — once
SixOne8 alerts on the moment your conditions become true, not on the fact that they are true. A market that has satisfied your strategy for six hours is not news, and a tool that keeps telling you about it is a tool you will mute within a week.
That distinction is also why a strategy whose conditions are permanently satisfied never alerts. If nothing ever fires, the usual cause is not a broken scanner — it is a condition so loose that it has been true the whole time, and so it has never become true.
What arrives on your phone
- The instrument and the strategy, so you know which of your ideas this is.
- The direction — long or short, as the strategy defines it.
- Every condition, with the value it had when it fired. Not "conditions met", but RSI at 28.4, ADX at 26.1, price above the 200 EMA.
- The time of the candle close it fired on, so a late-read alert is obviously late rather than quietly stale.

Alert hours, so you are not woken at 3am
Markets do not keep your hours. Crypto never closes and forex runs most of the week, so you can set the window in which alerts are allowed to reach your phone — 06:00 to 21:00, or whatever your day actually looks like. Outside it nothing is pushed.
It is the hours you want alerts, not the hours you do not, because that is how the window is usually thought about — and the same setting covers the trader who is up for the Asian session, since a window may run from 23:00 to 08:00 across midnight.
Nothing is lost while it is closed. Alerts keep firing and keep being recorded; you will find every one of them waiting on Today. And while the window is holding pushes back, the app says so on screen, so you're never left guessing.
What reaches your phone is separate from what is recorded
Three controls, doing different things. Alert hours limits when a push may arrive. Push notifications is the master switch over delivery: with it off, alerts still fire and are still written to your history — they simply do not light up your phone. Disabling a strategy goes further and stops it being evaluated at all, so no alert is generated in the first place.
The distinction matters when you go quiet for a while. The first two lose nothing: the history is complete when you come back to it. Disabling the strategy means there is nothing to come back to.
What this does not do
It does not place trades, and it never will. SixOne8 is a monitoring and analysis tool: it tells you when the conditions you wrote are met, and every decision and every order stays with you. An alert is not advice, not a recommendation, and not a prediction — it is a statement that a set of rules you defined are currently true.
Questions
When exactly does an alert fire?
On the close of the candle where the last of your conditions becomes true. It is the transition that matters: a market that has already satisfied your strategy for hours does not keep alerting, because the thing worth telling you about is the moment it became true.
Can I stop alerts arriving overnight?
Yes — set your alert hours. You choose the window in which pushes may reach your phone, say 06:00 to 21:00, and outside it nothing is sent. The window can cross midnight, so 23:00 to 08:00 works if you trade the Asian session. Alerts still fire and are still recorded while it is closed, so nothing is missed — they are waiting on Today when you next look, and the app tells you on screen while it is holding pushes back.
What does the alert actually tell me?
The instrument, the strategy, the direction, and every condition with its value at the moment it fired. The point is that you can see why it fired without opening a chart to reconstruct it, and decide whether the reason is one you still believe in.
Does SixOne8 place the trade for me?
No, and it will not. SixOne8 is a monitoring and analysis tool. It tells you when your own conditions are met; every decision and every order stays with you and your broker.
