Check an entry before you design exits The test to run first, and how to read the path it draws against a random moment. Indicators explained

What each one measures, and how to write it as a condition.

RSI explained Gains against losses on a 0–100 scale, what the period changes, and the comparisons you can write. Moving averages explained EMA against SMA, what a length means in time, and crossing versus being above. MACD explained Two averages, the gap between them, and the signal line drawn through it. ATR explained Volatility measured in price, and why stops and targets are set in multiples of it. Bollinger Bands explained An average with bands either side, what the two settings change, and the squeeze. Supertrend explained A line that trails price at a multiple of ATR and flips sides when price closes through it.

A note on every guide

SixOne8 is a monitoring and analysis tool. It tells you when the conditions you set are met and what a strategy would have done on past data. The guides explain the mechanics of that. They do not recommend a strategy, an instrument or a trade, and nothing in them is a forecast.
